The Department of Education (ED) has issued an RFP for conducting evaluations of strategies designed to improve the federal student aid system, primarily those tested under the Experimental Sites Initiative. The contract will allow improvements under consideration to be piloted and assessed before changes are made system wide. The program office responsible for the evaluations will be the National Center for Education Evaluation and Regional Assistance within the Institute of Education Sciences (IES), working in collaboration with ED’s Office of Federal Student Aid (FSA).
This IDIQ is intended to help IES design and conduct evaluations of FSA’s experiments and other pilots rigorously, quickly, and efficiently. FSA is also developing its Next Generation (Next Gen) Financial Services Environment to modernize and streamline how students and parents experience the federal financial aid system.
The period of performance is for one year, with four one-year option periods.
