Department of Energy recruits former DHS/CMS Cybersecurity Exec as new CISO

G2X TAKE: Given Emery Csulak‘s nearly three decades of experience in progressively responsible roles, to include recent stints as a CISO at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and as Deputy CISO at the Department of Homeland Security, this leader is in position to hit the ground running as the new Chief Information Security Officer/Deputy CIO at the Department of Energy. Expect those who know Emery from his time at CMS or DHS to reach out to offer congratulations and support as he looks to get a lay of the land at DOE.

Prior roles include:

  • Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)/Senior Official for Privacy – Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • Deputy Chief Information Security Officer – U.S. Department of Homeland Security
  • Chief Engineer – MITRE Corporation
