G2X TAKE: GDIT, an enormous and highly successful IT and consulting services provider to the U.S. Government, that focuses on supporting some of the most complex Government projects across the country, recently added a new 4 ½-year task out of the Department of Labor to support EFAST2, an Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) system for processing electronic annual returns and reports. The task was awarded using the NITAAC Chief Information Officer–Solutions and Partners 3 (CIO-SP3) GWAC.
- This award won’t come as a surprise as GDIT, by way of their acquisition of Vangent, is a longtime incumbent on this program. In early 2019 DOL had announced their intention, on then FBO, to complete a sole source action to GDIT for continued support of EFAST2.
- EFAST2 is an all-electronic system designed by the Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation to simplify and expedite the submission, receipt, and processing of the Form 5500 and Form 5500-SF. These forms must be electronically filed each year by employee benefit plans to satisfy annual reporting requirements under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code. - GDIT is two years removed from completing their $9.7B acquisition of high-tech solutions provider to the Government, CSRA.
- GDIT was recently named one of the NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
