Dept. of Labor OASAM seeking Director of Enterprise Services

“The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Administration and Management (OASAM) provides the infrastructure and support that enables the Department of Labor to perform its mission. OASAM provides leadership and support for Departmental business operations and procurement; budget and finance; information technology; human resources and civil rights; security and emergency management; and strategic planning.” 

“Responsibilities 

  • The incumbent serves as the Director of Enterprise Services.  As such, the incumbent serves as the principal advisor to Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) leadership, Departmental executives, and key Agency managers in the area of large-scale information technology initiatives, and plans, directs, and administers a comprehensive, portfolio-based approach to IT project management. 
  • Leads, organizes, plans, and manages the ongoing activities of the Division of Enterprise Services. 
  • Serves as key member of the senior planning and management staff of the OCIO, making substantial contributions to the annual and long range planning and program development, operating policy, advanced technologies research and application, organizational enhancements, and internal and external coordination. 
  • Oversees and directs operations for the DOL IT infrastructure, which includes a complete range of technical support and analysis for shared and administrative IT systems. Ensures the effective and efficient operation and support of these systems. 
  • Oversees IT facilities management for the OCIO. 
  • Directs the design, installation, and technical support of the infrastructure, which connects all major Agencies and the Regional Offices within DOL. Evaluates the operations of the infrastructure, other Agency networks, and their utilization of networks and microcomputers to progress towards office automation in the Department. Provides recommendations to increase functionality, utilization, effectiveness, and efficiency of the networks and microcomputers. 
  • Oversees Regional coordination and technical assistance in support of hardware, software, and data communications requirements and operations.”
