“The Associate Chief Information Officer (ACIO) is the senior information management and information technology leader for the National Park Service (NPS) and is a member of the DOI Chief Information Officers’ (CIO’s) executive leadership team.
The ACIO maintains purview of the establishment of the NPS’ information management and information technology strategy and its alignment with the objectives and expected outcomes of the Secretary of the Interior, the Department of Interior CIO’s key priorities and mission and program objectives.”
“The ACIO is responsible for the following:
- Providing thought leadership and strategic direction for the NPS’ information technology (IT) operations, including infrastructure and architecture, applications development, re-engineering business processes, networks, sourcing alternatives, and computer and auxiliary operations and support;
- Leading the bureau’s Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act (FITARA) implementation, which seeks to strengthen authority over information management and technology (IMT) and supports the implementation of the DOI-wide FITARA plan;
- Developing the bureau’s annual IT operating plan for service-wide IT spending and developing the annual expense and capital expenditure budget for IMT “
