“Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • The Deputy Director serves as a principal advisor to the Secretary, the Assistant Secretary – Policy, Management and Budget, the Deputy Assistant Secretary – Budget, Finance, Grants and Acquisition, the Directors of Financial Management, Acquisition and Property Management, Budget, Grants, Human Resources, Planning and Performance Management, Office of the Solicitor, BIO Director and other top bureau and office managers on cross-cutting program matters related to the FBMS enterprise solution and other systems managed by the BIO.
  • The Deputy Director provides executive oversight and strategic leadership over the development of policy guidance and standards for Department-wide selection, acquisition, implementation, deployment and maintenance of information technology pertinent to the FBMS and closely related systems.
  • The Deputy Director provides executive oversight and leadership over the development of line of business roadmaps, project plans, operating plans and supporting budgets. The incumbent oversees the development of technical specifications, statements of work, performance work statements, task order and other acquisition related documentation necessary to the effective use of obtaining and managing system development and operations activities.
  • The Deputy Director provides executive oversight and leadership in the design, coordination, implementation and operation of the technical architecture for systems managed by the BIO, including hardware and software, networks and telecommunications (voice and data), security, hosting, operating systems, databases, and Internet access. The incumbent ensures that E-Gov and Interior Strategic Plan initiatives are incorporated, and that emerging government-wide programs are integrated.”
