The Supervisory, Information Technology Cybersecurity Specialist (Supv. ITCYBER) serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) within OIT. The position is accountable for directing program operations and staff in establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision and strategy to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected.”
“Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Serving as a senior management official in cyberspace strategic planning and operations guidance.
- Planning, directing and supervising the design, formulation, and establishment of policies, procedures, standards and systems regarding IT security, cybersecurity, and access to IT systems.
- Creating and managing a set of controls in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology Cybersecurity Framework and consistent with applicable statutory authority, including the Clinger-Cohen Act and Federal Information Security Modernization Act of 2014 (FISMA). Resolves complex problems involving the interpretation of broad policy, laws, and regulations.
- Researching new and emerging developments and trends in information technology and cyber security; analyzes and evaluates the applicability of such developments to OIT operations and programs and ensures that OIT fully exploits such technology to protect against intrusion and interruption.”
