G2X TAKE: RTI International, an independent, nonprofit research institute dedicated to improving the human condition, just beat out two other bidders to be awarded a 5-year contract in support of this Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs. The contract, funded by the OJP National Institute of Justice (NIJ), was competed and awarded using the GSA Professional Services Schedule (PSS).
- The mission of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) is to bring people, information, forensic science, and technology together to help resolve missing, unidentified, and unclaimed person cases nationwide, while providing support to victims and their families. More here.
- This award builds on a task RTI was awarded with OJP in late FY 2019 to support the National Baseline Study Data Center and to support the Forensic Technology Center of Excellence to provide testing, evaluation and technology assistance to help crime laboratories, forensic service providers and law enforcement combat crime.
- RTI, in partnership with the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification, and the National Association of Medical Examiners, offers a number of courses, funded by the National Institute of Justice related to missing and unidentified persons. More here.
