G2X TAKE: Amazon Web Services (AWS) just beat out three other bidders to be awarded a new 5-year, $179M Cloud Service and VAR Support Services contract to support the General Services Administration. This task, funded by the Federal Acquisition Service’s Systems Transformation, was competed and awarded using GSA IT-70.
- AWS made a number of hires to support Growth across the Federal Civilian sector so far in 2021, to include recruiting recent DOE CIO Chris “Rocky” Campione to serve as a US Public Sector Lead for Security and Compliance; adding industry leader Edward Nogas as Federal Civilian Business Development Manager; recruiting Greg Fletcher to drive Business Development and Capture (Federal Financial Agencies); adding rising growth leader Justin Landreth as Strategic Partner Executive – Public Sector; and adding established industry veteran Sonja Twiford as a Strategic Partner Executive.
- AWS only recently announced that Tableau Software CEO Adam Selipsky, a former AWS executive who spent 11 years at the Seattle-based tech giant, will be the new CEO of Amazon Web Services. More here.
