GSA taps 2020 Presidential Transition IT Lead as Acting Director of Infrastructure Capabilities Division

Erik Simmons, who has spent his entire 30-year career working for the General Services Administration (GSA), is taking on a new challenge as Acting Director of the Infrastructure Capabilities Division.

As part of the 2020 presidential transition team, Erik directed all IT initiatives to include engagement with GSA CIO and other senior officials, campaign pre-election teams, transition teams, outgoing administrations, presidential inaugural committees, and management of the $15M budget.

Prior roles include:

  • IT Lead, 2020 Presidential Transition – GSA
  • Director, Center for Customized IT Projects – GSA
  • Senior IT Project Manager – GSA
