G2X TAKE: Less than a week after releasing three solicitations to kick off phase two of its IT modernization initiative, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has released a fourth RFQ via GitHub through the GSA Centers of Excellence.
The latest RFQ is Data Analytics: Data Visualization for the Office of the Chief Data Officer.
Purpose
“HUD has a need to create data visualizations that increase financial transparency and program effectiveness within HUD by connecting program, financial, and human capital information (e.g., salary and expenditure information). The contractor performing this work must create dashboards that provide the information HUD stakeholders need to incorporate in their data-driven decision making process with near-real time, mobile available, and access-controlled visualizations.”
“The contractor will be responsible for the development of dashboard prototypes, which will then be operationalized. Once operationalized, the contractor must also develop data documentation and training relevant to the dashboards created.”
“In addition, HUD has a need to continue adding data across the HUD Enterprise into EDM for downstream system consumption, reporting and analytics. The contractor will provide support to further research systems and tools and develop and implement HUD’s Enterprise Data Management (EDM) environment. This will be an optional task.” View the full RFQ here.

“The solicitations follow nearly a year of discovery work starting when the Office of Management and Budget named HUD the second CoE agency in September 2018. The Agriculture Department and the Office of Personnel Management are the two other agencies under the CoE umbrella.”
“The CoE team used recommendations and suggestions gathered during the discovery and assessment work, and industry feedback from the draft RFQ, to finalize these procurements,” the notice on Github states. “The feedback helped the CoE to allow all procurements to have contractor teaming arrangements so…” Read the full article here.
