“The NASA Safety Center (NSC) was established by NASA’s Office of Safety and Mission Assurance (OSMA) to support the Safety and Mission Assurance (SMA) requirements of NASA’s mission programs and projects. NSC provides SMA expertise, information, verification and analysis to enable collaboration and learning while promoting a safe workplace and successful programs and projects.”

“The Contractor shall perform the work as directed in NASA issued task orders. Such services shall be performed on a resident (on-site), remote or itinerant basis. Virtual audits, assessments, reviews and investigations may be performed as the Government deems necessary. NASA-approved IT equipment and software used in support of virtual activities will be provided by the Government to the Contractor. Contractor personnel shall have the competency to include but not limited to qualifications necessary to fulfill the task orders to which they are assigned.

Task orders that may be issued within and across the areas are described below,

  • 1 Agency SMA Audit/Assessment/Analysis Support
  • 1.1 NSC Assessments and Investigations Office (AIO)
  • 1.1.1 Institutional, Facility and Operational Safety Audit (IFOSA)
  • 1.1.2 Quality, Audit, Assessment and Review (QAAR)
  • 1.1.3 Interim Center Assessments (ICA)
  • 1.1.4 Pre-Audit Discovery and Analysis
  • 1.1.5 SMA Investigations
  • 1.2 Supplier Quality Management Assessments
  • 1.3 Supplier/Supply Chain Risk Assessments
  • 1.4 Internal Quality Management Audits/Assessments
  • 1.5 Programmatic Audits, Assessments, Reviews and Investigations
  • 1.6 Independent Assessments and Investigations…”

“The base period of performance of this contract (not including any phase-in) shall be for three (3) years.

If exercised, the subsequent contract option period shall be a single two (2) year option period beginning on the expiration date of the base contract period. If the Government requires performance of services after the base contract period, notification to the Contractor of such requirement shall be in accordance with the clause 52.217-9 entitled, “Option to Extend the Term of the Contract.” The Government reserves the right to exercise up to six (6) additional months beyond the base and option periods per FAR clause 52.217-8 entitled, “Option to Extend Services.” The maximum period of performance shall be in accordance with NFS 1817.204(e).”
