“This statement of work describes the effort necessary to provide support to the Software, Robotics, and Simulation Division (SR&SD) of NASA, Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center (JSC). SR&SD provides software development and engineering in the areas of automation and intelligent systems, telerobotics and autonomous robotic systems for ground and space flight applications, and simulation and training. The SR&SD also provides support for the International Space Station (ISS) and advanced programs.”
“The proposed contract is to provide the SR&SD with software programming and software engineering capabilities in order to (1) maintain and upgrade computer graphics software applications; (2) research and develop new software applications; (3) generate video documentations; (4) provide support for training and outreach computer and mobile applications, and (5) operate and maintain the IGOAL laboratory for such activities.”
“The primary products of this effort shall be software deliveries, visual documentations, three dimensional (3D) graphics models, user’s guides, monthly reports, presentations, financial management reports, and data products.”
“This acquisition is an 8(a) set-aside competition.”
3.0 PRODUCT DESCRIPTIONS
3.1 SOFTWARE DELIVERIES
The contractor shall provide research and development of software algorithms for specialized problems in 3D computer graphics, visual simulation, education and outreach applications, training and utilities for configuration control and lab operations. Current major software products to be supported include: 1) Space Station Research eXplorer, a mobile application for crew and ISS science outreach; 2) AGEA, a 3D model builder, animation package, and simulation display program; 3) additional outreach and training applications on various platforms (PC, Mac, mobile, web).”
“In addition to these major software products, the contractor shall provide research and development of software products for specialized applications in graphics, simulation, training, and outreach.”
3.2 SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION SUPPORT
“The contractor shall provide system administration of workstations and associated peripherals and system software. This includes monitoring performance, installing enhancements and upgrades, performing regular system backups and restores, coordinating service requests with maintenance personnel and users, providing consultation to users on systems and software problems, and developing system software to aid users and streamline system processes. This task also provides technical support in planning maintenance of resources, and planning equipment upgrades and purchases. This task includes serving as property custodian for tracking equipment.”
3.3 VISUAL DOCUMENTATION
“The contractor shall provide animation support for visual documentations. This task provides computer generated animations of science topics, visualizations of mission operations, payloads and advanced concepts. ”
3.4 MODEL BUILDING
“The contractor shall provide support in the creation of 3D computer graphics models. These models are used in visual documentations and simulations as well as distributed for other organizations usage…”
