NOAA intends to award a follow-on contract to continue the services currently being provided by Sevatec. A 6-month extension is required to allow for a protest conclusion and during the transition period, services are required. Leidos won the follow-on work via CIO-SP3 on July 12 and is currently being protested.
The services required to meet the agency’s needs are cybersecurity services to protect the mission-critical NOAA IT infrastructure. These services include insuring NOAA meets Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements and the OMB Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) initiative. Sevatec is positioned to provide continuity of services and to re-compete the modification would not be economical or efficient.
