OPM OCIO taps seasoned IT executive as Senior Advisor

Jim Craft, a senior IT executive armed with four decades of IT experience in the military, Federal Government and industry, has taken on a new challenge as Senior Advisor to the Chief Information Officer at the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.

Jim brings experience gained driving business transformation in multi-billion-dollar organizations in both industry and government, and most recently served as Deputy Associate Director for the Senior Executive Service and Performance Management, which leads Government-wide human capital policy for the SES and other senior professionals, as well as for non-executive performance, awards, and leadership development.

In this role Jim will oversee a portfolio of leadership, management, and acquisition initiatives related to the Information Technology functions of the Office of Personnel Management.

Prior roles include:

  • Deputy Associate Director, Senior Executive Service and Performance Management – Office of Personnel Management
  • Director, Mission Support Department, Operations and Integration Directorate – Defense Threat Reduction Agency
  • Chief Information Officer – Joint Improvised-Threat Defeat Agency (JIDA)
