SSA awards $80M Ticket to Work Program Management contract to Cognosante

G2X TAKE: Cognosante, a very fast rising Federal consultancy, that can lay claim to nearly three decades of experience providing technology solution and business process outsourcing to Government agencies, just beat out one other bidder to be awarded a 5-year Ticket to Work Program Management support contract with the Social Security Administration. This requirement was posted on beta.SAM and competed on FedConnect.

A focus for this effort will be to conduct outreach activities to beneficiaries, facilitate beneficiary access to Employment Networks (ENs), ensure timely and accurate communication between all parties involved in the Ticket-to-Work Program, recruit ENs, assign and process Tickets, and administer EN/VR payment processes. See the full solicitation here.

  • Social Security’s Ticket to Work Program is a free and voluntary Social Security program that helps people who receive disability benefits return to work or work for the first time. More here.
  • Cognosante has several current job openings on their website to support SSA, to include a Program Director and several transition manager roles to obtain and adopt “the information, tools, processes, programs, databases, data, and other relevant operational elements that will enable Cognosante to seamlessly continue Ticket program operations upon conclusion of the transition period.”  See the full list here.
  • This is the first Prime award we can find for Cognosante at SSA but this group, who is a major and very fast growing player in the Federal Health sector, has clearly set their eyes on winning across the broader FedCiv market, to include recently adding two major new wins — a $100M National Contact Center (NCC) Services BPA with the Department of Labor and a $60M Financial Systems Modernization (FSM) Joint Program Management Office Support task with DHS. This group will be #onetowatch across FedCiv in FY2021 as they have consistently won everywhere they have gone.
  • Late this past Spring Cognosante announced its acquisition of Enterprise Information Services, LLC (EIS), part of a growth strategy of continuing to expand its Federal market offering and strengthening its portfolio of contract vehicles, to include adding a Prime role on the Alliant 2 IDIQ and adding to their capabilities and past performance across the broader FedCiv marketMore here.
  • In addition, as part of a separate effort, we should note that Cognosante also recently acquired Prime access to the GSA OASIS Unrestricted IDIQ. Details of how they secured that can be found here.
  • Cognosante has been very busy adding to their executive leadership team of late, to include recruiting James Gordon to serve as President, a new position for the Company; adding Douglas Neff in early 2019 as their new CIO; and recruiting business transformation leader Chad Thyes as a VP & General Manager in the summer of 2019.
  • Led by CEO, Michele Kang, Cognosante was was recently named one of the NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
