“The Leading Niche (TLN) is seeking an experienced Federal Business Development Manager/Civilian with excellent organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be responsible for our Civilian portfolio and is expected to work within a dynamic team environment and will be part of a fast paced and highly collaborative business development organization in our Washington, DC office. The position will focus on full range of business development activities from relationship building/maturation through initial capture management strategies and will lead the development and execution of civilian account growth strategy, including winning new work, building relationships, and participating in industry events.”

  • Work closely with senior leaders to identify, refine, and execute our civilian account strategy
  • Participate in achieving aggressive yearly sales targets and build opportunity pipelines for out years
  • Responsible for identifying potential opportunities, arranging meetings, initiating marketing strategies, building and strengthening relationships
  • Develop and execute effective business development/sales call plans for meetings with target clients, program managers, and industry partners
  • Will support outreach to Civilian agencies, including assistance with building new partnerships and communication strategies; developing methods to expand the customer base; and developing strategies to help ensure consistent, efficient, and effective solutions…”


  • 8-10 years of experience in federal contracting/business development/capture management with a proven track record our core areas of data analytics, IT, Program and Process Management. Experience working with or in small federal contracting/consulting business organization is key.
  • Experience capturing Full and Open, ID/IQ, Multiple Award, and BPA contracts and task orders
  • Must have a mature and active network of contacts relevant to the market and the contractor industry that supports and operates within those markets…”
