Treasury seeking Chief Data Officer


  • Consistent with statutory mandates and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) the CDO establishes the strategy, policies, program documents and requirements to guide Treasury’s comprehensive use of data, with responsibility for Treasury’s lifecycle data management, including: 
  • Chairing Treasury’s Data Governance Board; 
  • Facilitating collaborative activities among the numerous actors with responsibilities and needs for data within the agency; 
  • Supporting Treasury’s learning agenda and performance improvement by coordinating data access and management activities that support evidence building relating to evaluation, operational performance reporting, and analysis of regulations; 
  • Coordinating with Treasury officials responsible for using, protecting, disseminating, and generating data to ensure that the data needs of the agency are met; 
  • Engaging agency employees, the public, and contractors in using public data assets, and encouraging collaborative approaches on improving data use; 
  • Reviewing the impact of the infrastructure of the agency on data asset accessibility and coordinating with Treasury’s Chief Information Officer to improve such infrastructure to reduce barriers that inhibit data asset accessibility; 
  • Carrying out information resources management strategic planning, including leading the development of Treasury’s Open Data Plan; 
  • Supporting Treasury officials responsible for carrying out the requirements of the agency with regard to the information collection and control of paperwork; 
  • Managing Treasury’s data assets, including the standardization of data format, sharing of data assets, and publication of data assets in accordance with applicable law…”
