USDA awards $41M Information Technology Support Services (DAITSS) task

G2X TAKE: Beating out one other bidder, global professional services company Accenture Federal Services, which provides a broad range of services and solutions in strategy, consulting, digital, technology and operations, has been awarded a 5-year, $41M task with the US Department of Agriculture. The task was awarded using the USDA Information Technology Support Services (DAITSS) BPA.

  • Accenture will be a familiar partner to USDA with recent wins that include a $5M Domestic Hemp Production Program System Development task; an APHIS eFile IT Services BPA; and a USDA FPAC Enterprise Web Platform Support Services task. Last Fall, Accenture Federal Services announced it had been awarded a spot on the $450M US Department of Agriculture IT Support Services (DAITSS) BPA
  • Accenture has made a number of announcements recently related to helping support modernization and acceleration efforts. These include the news that:  
    • Accenture and Appian would be teaming to Accelerate Acquisition Modernization for Government and Defense Organizations. More here.  
    • Accenture had formed Accenture Cloud First with a $3 billion investment over three years to help clients across all industries rapidly become ‘cloud first’ businesses and accelerate their digital transformation to realize greater value at speed and scale. More here.

    • And the recent news that they had entered into an agreement to acquire Novetta, an advanced analytics company serving U.S. federal organizations that are pushing the limits of what’s possible with machine learning, cyber, and cloud engineering. More here.   
  • Accenture has also made some strategic talent moves, tapping AI SME Nilanjan Sengupta as CTO – Applied Intelligence; and adding Jackie Fendrock, an established industry and growth leader, as a Managing Director leading Cybersecurity, Safety & Citizen Services.  
  • Accenture was named one of the NXT UP firms poised to make big waves in the Federal sector in 2020 and for years to come.
