“The head of the federal Chief Data Officers (CDO) Council has been in his post for about a year now. In that year, the council has laid the groundwork for the next 10 years of data management across government.
- Ted Kaouk, Chief Data Officer at the Department of Agriculture and Chair of the CDO Council, said some major accomplishments so far include agency data governance boards, support of data infrastructure assessments, operations support during COVID-19, collaboration on common decision-making tools and establishment of working groups.
- Kaouk said the council released a list of 10 agency data skills programs and is using those as case studies to find out what is working and help agencies learn from each other.
