USDA FNS issues sources sought for Child Nutrition/WIC Analysis and Modeling BPA


The USDA Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) has issued a sources sought for Child Nutrition/WIC Analysis and Modeling (CNAM/WAM) Quick Turnaround BPA. FNS is seeking multiple contractors to assist in preparing quick-turnaround analyses (with timelines ranging from 48 hours to 6 months) to support ongoing evaluation of FNS Special Nutrition Programs (e.g. the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), the School Breakfast Program (SBP), the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP)).  These analyses may utilize public use data sets, FNS program data sets, and/or data gathered from previous FNS studies.  In some cases, a particular question or analysis will require the contractor to perform a small-scale data collection (9 or fewer respondents) on a quick turnaround basis to inform an analysis or the interpretation of findings. Examples of quick-turnaround analyses that may be requested include the following:

  • Cross tabulations of pre-defined dataset elements;
  • Variable creation;
  • Multi-level regression;
  • Qualitative analyses; and
  • Other quantitative analyses.
