USDA extends contracts to Kingfisher Systems, Inc., Blue Glacier Management Group, Inc. and Decypher Technologies, Ltd to provide security services for the OCIO Agriculture Security Operations Center (ASOC). The USDA currently has three BPA’s in place for security services.
This contract is necessary to ensure continuous monitoring for intrusions to the USDA network. It is imperative that we extend the existing BPA calls. Without the monitoring the USDA network will be defenseless to daily cyber-attacks. An award to any other source would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered during the extension.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is in the process of issuing a competitive solicitation for security services. An extension of the existing BPA calls is necessary due to a protest.
