Agency-by-agency AI budgets included in White House Network & IT R&D Budget for FY2020

The White House has released a report detailing its FY2020 non-defense networking and IT research and development (R&D) spending request and includes a table on AI R&D budgets by agency.

The President’s FY2020 budget request for the NITRD Program is $5.5 billion. This is a decrease of approximately 3.5 percent, or $0. 20 billion, compared to the $5.7 billion estimate in 2019.

The overall change compared to the FY2019 budget request is due to both increases and decreases in individual agency NITRD budgets, which are described in the budget analysis section in the report. The NITRD agency budget requests for AI R&D for FY2020 totaled $973.5 million.
